Young people who are left alone and children who are allowed to sleep on the floor in a corridor.

Now Ivo is criticizing one of the State Institution Board’s youth care homes in Linköping on several points.

In the current review, the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) has looked at how young people who receive care in private (vie) at the Sis home live. Vie is a coercive measure that means they live in isolation. Ivo has collected testimonies from several children who say that they feel bad when they have vie.

Corren reports that they have been in contact with around 20 girls who testified about abuse. Several of them say that they are left alone for long periods without staff. They have also had to sleep for long periods on broken mattresses on the floor.

They also say that the lighting in the corridor comes on as soon as staff walk by.

According to Corren, Ivo has taken part in the same testimony, which has now led to criticism of the Sis accommodation. The premises are also not good for preventing suicide, according to Ivo.

In August last year, a 14-year-old boy who lived at the Sis home in question died, which led to Ivo’s review.
