Criticism of Dumpen after another suicide: “Direct connection”

Criticism of Dumpen after another suicide Direct connection

Another man has taken his own life after being posted on the Dumpen website. It is the eighth in a row of men who took their own lives after Dumpen hung them out as pedophiles, writes Today’s ETC.

The man had chatted with Dumpen’s employee Patrik Sjoberg and Sarah Nilsson who pretended to be a woman for a few weeks. The man, together with the made-up woman, had arranged a meeting to then jointly commit assault on the woman’s ten-year-old daughter.

Instead, he was confronted by Sjöberg and Nilsson.

Dumpen-Sara: Suicide not unique to Dumpen hangings

In an interview with TV4 Nyheterna, Sara Nilsson, who is also the publisher responsible for Dumpen, says that the suicides that come from Dumpen’s hangings are not unique to them. She believes instead that all perpetrators who are exposed run an increased risk of committing suicide.

– It is incredibly tragic when it goes so far that a person takes their own life. But the alternative is to let them continue until they commit a crime, until they create a victim of children, she says the channel.

“Relatives see a direct connection between the suicides and the hangings”

The lawyer Thomas Bodstrom disagree with Nilsson. For News24 he says that several of the men who were hanged at Dumpen have contacted him.

– Their relatives see a direct connection between the suicides and the hangings at Dumpen, he tells Nyheter24.

– There is a direct connection between the hangings at Dumpen and the suicides. If you are suspected by the police, you will be detained and then the whole thing will be done legally. It is not even out of the question that the detainee could kill himself, he tells Nyheter24.

Sara Nilsson: “Bodström probably has no idea”

Sara Nilsson rejects Bodström’s criticism. In a comment to Nyheter24, she claims that it is certainly possible to take one’s life in Sweden’s custody.

– Bodström probably has no idea what we are working with, she says, and continues:

– Every week people try to take their lives in the country’s prisons and five every year take their lives, so it is not impossible.

According to a survey from Gothenburg Post there were ten people who died after committing suicide in Sweden’s prisons in the period 2021 to 2023. Evenly distributed, this gives a little more than three suicides in Swedish prisons per year.

The criticism: “Why would you refer to a scam company if you were serious?”

Bodström is deeply critical of Dumpen’s way of treating people they suspect of being pedophiles. It has previously been reported, among other things from Dagens ETC and Aftonbladet, that the company that Dumpen refers its hanged out to for pedophile cure treatment is a scam.

Instead, those confronted by Dumpen have been able to buy their way out of hanging by paying the company. In the spring reported Today’s ETC about a man who paid SEK 135,000 to buy himself free.

– The dump receives 30,000 a month for some form of advertising, they have said themselves, says Bodström, and continues:

– The question is whether there isn’t a much larger financial collaboration between Dumpen and the scam company. You can say this: Why would you refer to a scam company if you were serious?

Sara Nilsson disagrees.

– The most effective way to prevent injuries after child abuse is to prevent abuse. The second most effective is treating trauma in children who have been injured. We work with both parts, she tells Nyheter24.

For Thomas Bodström, there is no doubt about what Dumpen wants to eat.

– The hangings take place with the aim of scandalising, says Bodström to Nyheter24.
