In a statement from the White House, it was stated that the closed-door meeting would be held in the “Situation Room”, where special occasions are held.
The statement noted that Biden will convene his national security team today to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East following the assassinations of Fuad Shukur, a senior commander of the Hezbollah Movement, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, and Iran’s possible retaliatory attack on Israel.

US AIMS TO REDUCE TENSIONS IN THE REGION
Speaking on CBS’s “Face the Nation” program, US Deputy National Security Advisor Jonathan Finer said the US aims to reduce tensions in the region with moves such as sending additional warplanes and ships to the Middle East.
“We are trying to prevent the conflict in Gaza from spreading and spreading to other places. This is our strategic goal,” Finer said.
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that they would send additional warplanes and ships to the region to increase support for Israel’s security in the face of “threats originating from Iran.”
