While the Russia-Ukraine conflict was continuing, a flash development took place. Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov announced that they decided to change the army management.
NEW APPOINTMENT FROM ZELENSKY
In his video statement, Zelenskiy stated that the new team has taken over the management of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as of today and said, “I want our soldiers in Robotine or Avdiyivka, the General Staff and the Commander-in-Chief Headquarters to have the same vision about the war.” said.
Pointing out that he had dozens of meetings with commanders at various levels, Zelenskiy stated that all of the commanders in question were considered for senior positions in the army and that they would serve under the leadership of Ukraine’s most experienced commander.
Zelenskiy said, “I appointed Colonel General Sirskiy as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He managed the Kiev defense operation and has successful defense experience. He also has successful experience in offensive operations such as the operation to liberate Kharkiv.” he said.
Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, in his statement on his social media account, stated that former Chief of General Staff Valeriy Zaluzhny had one of the most difficult tasks, such as leading the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the war with Russia, and said:
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces have shown the whole world that Ukraine, together with all the people of our country, will fight for itself and its people, no matter who the enemy is. Our soldiers repelled the invasion of the aggressor, defended our state and continue to defend our independence every day. But war does not remain the same. War changes and requires change. Combat operations of 2022, 2023 and 2024 are 3 different realities. 2024 will bring new changes for which we must be prepared. We need new approaches and new strategies. Today the decision was made to change the management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To Valeriy Zaluzhny for all his achievements and victories I am grateful.”
