THE ALLEGED THAT THE RUSSIAN OLIGARCS GO TO THE REGION TO SEE
According to the news of the Italian newspaper Corriera della Sera, the agents on the boat came here to spy on the Russian oligarchs, who reportedly bought villas and hotels in the area. According to the report, Russian oligarchs wanted to smuggle their wealth in order to escape the financial sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU. It was also claimed in the news that they were trying to provide transfers to their bank accounts in Italy first and then to their bank accounts in Switzerland.
ALLEGED WATCHING IRAN COMPANIES
Another claim was shaped by Israeli intelligence officers. According to this claim, Israeli intelligence officers tracked Iranian firms with business connections in industrial areas in northern Italy.
In another report, it was pointed out that the location of Lake Maggiore is a transition zone due to its proximity to Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Prime Ministry Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano will inform the Parliamentary Security Committee (COPASIR) on the boat accident in Lake Magigore in a special session on 7 June.
BOAT MASTER QUESTED
The investigation launched by the Busto Arisizo Prosecutor’s Office regarding how the boat capsized is still ongoing. Within the framework of the investigation, it was stated that the captain of the boat, Claudio Carminati, who lost his Russian wife Anya Bozkhova in the accident, was questioned.
It was noted that the investigation in question was not interested in the history of the agents on the boat at the time of the accident or why they were in this area, how the accident occurred and focused on the captain’s role here.
By the way, it was previously reported in the press that more than 20 people were on the boat while its capacity was 15.
