Scotland took their first victory of the autumn in the A level of the Nations League, when they surprised Croatia 1–0 in Glasgow.

Scotland was able to play half the match with superiority when Petar Sucic picked up another yellow card just before the break. Entered the field from the exchange John McGinn managed to score in the 86th minute.

With the defeat, Croatia lost their chance to fight for the group win, as Portugal went six points clear before the final round by hammering Poland 5-1.

The match went goalless for almost an hour until Rafael Leao put Portugal in the lead. After this, 39 years old Cristiano Ronaldo hit twice, and Bruno Fernandes and Pedro Neto both once.

Dominik Marczuk narrowed down to 1–5 at the end.

In the final round, Croatia will face Portugal and Scotland will face Poland. Scotland and Poland are both on four points. Poland won the previous match between the two countries, so they are ahead in the standings.

In other A-League matches, Spain beat Denmark 2–1 and Switzerland and Serbia drew 1–1. Spain secured the group win as they are now six points clear of second place Denmark with one round of matches to play. Serbia has five surfaces, Switzerland has two.
