John Wick: Chapter 4 has had a sensational theatrical release. Already after the first weekend, the action sequel with Keanu Reeves was able to earn the box office of the surpass first part. Every new John Wick film is more successful at the box office than its predecessor. Now the series is being massively expanded.
While the first series from the John Wick universe awaits us this year with The Continental, the spin-off Ballerina with Ana de Armas in the leading role awaits us in 2024. However, Lionsgate, the studio behind the John Wick films, has much bigger plansas Collider found out in an interview.
John Wick 5 with Keanu Reeves and more: Two characters in particular are suitable for spin-offs
Erica Lee, who has accompanied John Wick as a producer since the first part, revealed that in a few weeks the announcement of a new John Wick film expected, expanding the action series.
There’s another film that we’re developing right now and I think we’ll be announcing it in the next, say, a month or two. Otherwise, I’m confident that there will be Ballerina 2 and John Wick 5 and many other films. We develop a lot of stuff and have a lot of discussions with a lot of writers and brand management. The Wick universe is my number one priority.

This statement exudes a lot of confidence in what the future John Wick plans concerns. Even though John Wick: Chapter 5 hasn’t been officially announced yet, Lionsgate definitely seems interested in the sequel. Confidence in Ballerina also gives hope. Apparently, the offshoot convinced the executive floor of Lionsgate.
But what is the John Wick movie about to be announced in a month or two? Compared to Screen Rant, Lee gets a little more specific and names two figuresof which you can imagine me in spin-off.
We’re really interested in exploring the world of the Bowery King and the Bowery. He sort of runs the underground, and it’s such an interesting world. But how does he get the guns and boats? He shows up everywhere. He’s the leader. He sends homeless people through the streets and information with pigeons. He’s low-tech and analogue in a digital world, and he knows everyone and gets everywhere.
During the one played by Laurence Fishburne Bowery King is a familiar John Wick face, Lee has also set her sights on a newer character.
Akira’s character really stands out [John Wick: Kapitel 4] out, and I’d love to see more adventures with her character. There are a lot! There are a lot of characters in John Wick 4 and a lot of fan favorites from the previous films. There’s definitely a lot of stuff we want to delve deeper into.

Singer Rina Sawayama delivers her acting debut in John Wick: Chapter 4 and convinces all along the line. A spin-off with her fighter Akira starring makes a lot of sense. Last but not least, the basic work for such a film was already laid in John Wick: Chapter 4. Lionsgate could easily build on that.
We can’t wait to see how the series of Reeves’ assassins will grow over the next few years. With John Wick, Lionsgate is very interested in the approach of a cinematic universe. Chapter 4 is currently in cinemas. Since March 23, 2023 you can watch the film on the big screen.
