When The Rookie season 7 starts soon, fans will have to do without a character from the series. In August 2024 it was first announced that Tru Valentino would not be returning in the role of Aaron Thorsen. The star himself has already given vague hints about a possible reunion.
Now The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley also has talked about Valentino’s exit and the future of his character. Fans should be happy with his words.
Tru Valentino can definitely return in The Rookie
In an interview with Screen Rant, the showrunner recently spoke about the new season without True Valentino. For fans, Hawley immediately made it clear that Aaron still exists in The Rookie universe:
Tru [Valentino] is a great actor and he’s been an important part of our show for several seasons, so we’d love to have him back in some capacity. Ultimately, it just felt like we needed to make a creative shift in how we developed the series. But he is still alive in our universe.
Hawley’s statements overlap with Valentino’s own statement that his character could return to The Rookie in some way. So it shouldn’t be a final, permanent farewell.
Aaron Thorsen came on board the series from season 4. In seasons 5 and 6 he rose to become the main character. As Rich TikTok star who hooked up with new police psychotherapistValentino’s character brought a breath of fresh air to the series. How his absence will be addressed in the new season 7 of The Rookie remains to be seen.
When does The Rookie Season 7 start in Germany?
In the USA, the new The Rookie season starts on January 7, 2025 on ABC. From then on January 10th Episode 1 is already available to stream in Germany in the original sound on WOW.
