One of Sweden’s most notorious criminals was arrested after a dramatic car chase in southern Stockholm, according to information given to Aftonbladet.
The 65-year-old man was taken by police after a crash in a roundabout.
He allegedly had kilos of amphetamines in the car.
The dramatic hunt began just before 8pm on Wednesday evening on Magelungsvägen in southern Stockholm.
In connection with a traffic control, a driver chose not to stop.
– Then it became a pursuit, says police spokesperson Towe Hägg.
Caught on film
One of the patrols activated a priority call and other police vehicles joined the chase.
A film seen by Aftonbladet shows how the hunt ended dramatically in a roundabout in Enskede.
On the film, you can see how a police car with sirens on and motorbike police chased after the motorist in the roundabout.
A pedestrian had to throw himself to the side before the police stopped the car by pushing it.
Notorious criminal
Three police officers then wrestled the driver to the ground.
According to information to Aftonbladet, the driver, a 65-year-old man, is one of Sweden’s most notorious and notorious criminals.
He was for a time the leader of a league that committed a series of sensational crimes.
The league leader is now suspected of a serious drug offense after having kilos of amphetamine in the car.
After a house search, another number of kilos of narcotics were found in the man’s home, according to Aftonbladet’s information.
Accident during the hunt
The police stated during the evening that the driver is being investigated for drugged driving and that there may be additional criminal charges.
During the car chase, a traffic accident occurred between the motorbike police and another motorist.
The driver had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Since a police officer was involved, the accident will be investigated by the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber.
