Covid vaccine to the value of SEK 1.5 billion has been thrown away in Sweden. This is reported by Ekot in Sweden’s radio today. This is a whopping 8.5 million doses of vaccine according to the Public Health Agency’s statistics.
Almost a fifth of all the vaccine Sweden has bought has therefore passed its best before date and has been destroyed.
According to former vaccine coordinator Richard Bergström, the large loss is due to the fact that many in Sweden did not want to take the third, fourth or fifth dose of vaccine.
