In the UK, the list of Covid symptoms has been expanded to include 9 new symptoms.
The list created by the UK Health Safety Agency now includes symptoms such as sore throat, muscle pain and diarrhea.
But England’s NHS NHS warned that the new symptoms “are very similar” to those of the flu and the common cold.
The original list of signs of Covid infection in the UK previously included:
- fire
- new, persistent cough
- loss of taste and smell
The pandemic started more than two years ago.
These three symptoms were considered the tip of the iceberg in the early days.
Other countries, including the World Health Organization and the United States, had a longer symptom list.
But in the UK it was a matter of debate which symptoms would be included in the official list and which of these would require a Covid test.
Headache is one of the known symptoms of Covid. But it was thought that it would be difficult for anyone with a headache to get tested because Covid has so many more causes.
Fever, cough, and loss of taste and smell were agreed. Because either these symptoms were seen in most of the Covid cases or the virus was causing them to a large extent.
But now there are nine more symptoms on the list:
- difficulty breathing
- tiredness or feeling extremely tired
- body pain
- headache
- sore throat
- stuffy nose or runny nose
- loss of appetite
- diarrhea
- nausea
Covid cases in the UK are at record levels. Last week, 4.9 million people tested positive for coronavirus. This means that one out of every 13 people in the country has Covid-19.
The free test application ended last week in the UK.
The NHS recommends that those with Covid symptoms stay at home, and those with a fever and more severe symptoms do not work.
