Covid test was positive on the plane, voluntary quarantine in the toilet for 5 hours

In the USA, a rapid Covid-19 test performed by a teacher named Marisa Fotieo during the flight was positive. Fotieo voluntarily quarantined in the plane’s restroom for 5 hours.

Marisa Fotieo was on the flight from Chicago to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, on December 20.

Fotieo said he felt a sore throat during the flight.

Later, the rapid Covid-19 test he brought with him was positive.

He stayed in the plane’s restroom for the rest of the trip. Flight attendants brought him water and food.

It’s unclear whether Fotieo is required by the rules to submit a pre-flight PCR test.

‘My biggest fear was infecting other passengers’

“It was a crazy experience. There were 150 people on the plane and my biggest fear was infecting them,” Fotieo told NBC News.

Inside the toilet of Fotieo’s Icelandair plane, Video posted on Tiktok It has been viewed more than 4 million times. Foteio especially thanked a stewardess who helped him during his life:

“He made sure I got everything I needed from food to drink for 5 hours, and he kept checking on me and reassuring me that everything was going to be okay,” he said.

When Fotieo arrived in Iceland, he explained that he was quarantined in a hotel owned by the Red Cross.
