(Finance) – In the last 24 hours in Italy they registered 24,691 new coronavirus casesdown from 27,296 yesterday, e 124 dead against the 147 recorded the previous day. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health. There have been cases since the beginning of the pandemic in our country 21,606,606.

The number of patients admitted to intensive care is decreasing260 in total (8 less than yesterday), and in non-critical departments 6,782 in total, 243 fewer than yesterday.

The Weekly report of the Regions by the Control Room confirms the decrease in incidence for the fifth consecutive week and transmissibility at values ​​below the epidemic threshold. Furthermore, a further decrease in the occupancy rates of beds in the medical and intensive care area was noted.

Incidence decreases – The data of the ISS flow in the period 08/08 / 2022-14 / 08/2022 2022 show a decreasing incidence equal to 298 per 100 thousand inhabitants, compared to the previous week which was 436 per 100 thousand inhabitants in the period 1-7 August 2022. A decreasing trend is also observed in the most recent period recorded in the aggregate data collected by the Ministry of Health (260 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the period 12-18 August 2022 vs 365 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the period 5-11 / 8/2022). The age group with the highest weekly incidence rate per 100 thousand inhabitants is the age range 70-79 years with an incidence equal to 375 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, a decrease compared to the previous week. At the moment, the lowest incidence is found in the 0-9 year age group with an incidence of 193 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease compared to the previous week.

Rt Index –
In the period 27 July – 9 August 2022, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 0.77 (range 0.74-0.80), a decrease compared to the previous week. The transmissibility index based on cases with hospitalization is also below the epidemic threshold: Rt = 0.77 (0.73-0.80) at 09/08/2022 vs Rt ​​= 0.76 (0.73-0.79 ) to 02/08/2022.

Occupancy rate of beds – Decreases the occupancy rate of ICU beds calculated in accordance with the Ministerial Decree of 30 April 2020 which is at 3.2% (299 / 9.208) on 16/08/2022, compared to 3.6% (331 / 9.206) on 09/08/2022. The absolute number of people admitted to intensive care decreased from 331 (09/08/2022) to 299 (16/08/2022), with a relative decrease of 9.7%. Decreases the employment rate in COVID-19 medical areas nationwide: it was 11.8% (7,544 / 64,158) on 08/16/2022, compared to 13.7% (8,816 / 64,165) on 08/09/2022. The number of people hospitalized in these areas decreased from 8,816 (09/08/2022) to 7,544 (16/08/2022) with a relative decrease of 14.4%.
