138 deaths in Shanghai since lockdown began
China announced this Friday the COVID death of another 51 people in the eastern metropolis of Shanghaibringing the total number of deaths since the epidemic began in the Asian country to 4,776.
The financial capital of China adds a total of 138 deceased since the confinement began more than a month ago in the wake of a sharp increase in cases.
Also, in the last 24 hours 2,680 new positive cases of coronavirus have been reported2,666 of them by local contagion and the rest, imported.
The health authorities also reported today the detection of 17,581 asymptomatic cases, 17,528 of them local (mostly in Shanghai)although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they show symptoms.
Since the start of the pandemic, 203,334 people have been infected in the country and 4,776 have died.
