[Mis à jour le 23 février 2022 à 17h46] The decline in the circulation of Sars-Cov-2 (virus responsible for the Covid epidemic) continues with 97,382 new cases in the last 24 hours. “The trend is confirmed week after week. The health horizon clears up a little more every day and the epidemic collapse continues“reassured Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson, after the Council of Ministers on Wednesday February 23, 2022. “In a week, the number of cases has further decreased by 40%. the incidence rate is now well below 1000, 845 per 100,000 inhabitants. Within a month, the incidence rate was divided by more than 4. The situation at the hospital is improving markedly and there are 400 fewer critical care patients and 3,500 hospitalized people that a week ago“detailed the government spokesperson.”This week we crossed the very important symbolic threshold since we passed below 30,000 people hospitalized for Covid and below 3,000 patients in intensive care. In just over two weeks, the number of hospital admissions has been halved“welcomed Gabriel Attal. “We have passed the hardest part but we must remain cautious because new variants could appear” for his part declared Olivier Véran before the Senate on Tuesday, February 22. “Our health system remains very exposed“, recalled the Minister of Health. He judged that the peak of the epidemic will have passed when the number of French people in intensive care will have fallen below 1,500 patients and the incidence rate oscillates between 300/500. “Those conditions could be met within two to three weeks” estimated Olivier Véran. “Two years later, we are emerging from the ‘crisis’ stage to enter a chronic phase. We will move slowly, probably in the falltowards an endemic situation, with a controlled circulation of the virus, but with occasional epidemic peaks due to the appearance of new variants. Clearly, we will live for a long time with Sars-Cov-2, but in a different way” estimated Jean-François Delfraissy at the Parisian on February 16, 2022. Every day, Santé Publique France presents a dashboard key epidemic monitoring indicators: confirmed cases, death, hospitalizationsadmissions in intensive care or critical care, contamination, vaccination figures… To which are added the data published by the government. here is the review of the latest figures, as of Wednesday, February 23 2022.
