CORONAVIRUS FIGURES. More than 300,000 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on January 13, 2022. An incidence rate of 2,833 cases of Covid per 100,000 inhabitants, up 37.10% in one week. New positive cases, patients in intensive care, hospitalization, vaccination… Here are the latest figures.

Today’s balance sheet shows 305 322 new cases, according to latest figures published by Santé Publique France. It’s the third consecutive day with more than 300,000 positive cases recorded in 24 hours in France. More 24,000 patients are hospitalized, of which nearly 4000 in critical care. The variant Omicron, highly contagious, continues to skyrocket the number of new positive cases to the virus. And this variant is now majority, as indicated Public health France in its last epidemiological point. On the vaccination side, 77.4% of the French population is fully vaccinated. In France, at 13 January 2022, according to Dashboard of the government, 13.2 million people have had a positive coronavirus antigen or PCR test since the outbreak began in 2020. As of January 13, 305 322 new people have tested positive during the last 24 hours.

How many French people are vaccinated against Covid?

Vaccination against Covid-19 continues to continue in France with vaccines Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen. At January 13, according to Ministry of Health, 53,465,792 people received at least one injection (i.e. 79.3 % of total population) and 52,177,933 people now have a full immunization schedule (i.e. 77.4% of the total population). 30,513,782 people also received a booster dose. 20.6% of the French population is not vaccinated against Covid. January 12, 91.4% of the adult population had a complete vaccination schedule.

What are the Covid figures for vaccinated and unvaccinated?

77.4% of the French population is fully vaccinated and 20.6% is not vaccinated (the others having a still incomplete vaccination schedule). Twice a month, the Data-gouv.fr site publishes the distribution of positive Covid cases according to the person’s vaccination. “This delay is necessary for the vaccination to be considered complete and effective (at +7 days) and for the data on the tests to be consolidated” specifies the site. These indicators reflect the number of positive RT-PCR tests per 100,000 vaccinated or unvaccinated people aged 20 and over.

How many Covid deaths in France?

Government and Public Health France sites report Covid deaths in hospitals and in social and medico-social establishments, i.e. 126,533 as of January 13, 2022. Covid deaths outside these structures are not recorded in real time.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, theInsee recorded a “exceptional mortality in 2020” with almost 669,000 deaths from all causes, i.e. 56,000 more deaths than in 2019 (+9%).

According to’INED, 68,000 deaths are attributable to the Covid epidemic in 2020.
