Covid-19 cases are currently decreasing or even stabilizing according to the latest bulletin published by Santé Publique France.
As predicted by scientists, Covid-19 tends to become a seasonal infection over the months. Santé Publique France now publishes a common acute respiratory infections monitoring bulletin bringing together influenza, bronchiolitis and Covid-19. In the bulletin published on November 2, 2023taking the figures recorded between October 23 and 29, the health agency reports a “decrease or tendency towards stabilization of most indicators” Covid epidemics. These indicators are based on feedback from SOS Médecins, emergency services and laboratories (pharmacies no longer report Covid test results). Since June 30, Covid-19 has been added to the list of notifiable diseases in France.
Declining incidence rate (highest among those aged 80 and over)
The incidence rate of COVID-19 cases laboratory confirmed of medical biology continued its decline over the week of October 23 to 29, or 26/100,000 inhabitants. A decrease in the screening rate is also observed. THE incidence rate and the screening rate were in decrease in all age groups. THE incidence rate remained lowest among those under 20 years old And highest among those aged 80 and over. THE positivity rate stabilized this week (22%).
Consultations are decreasing among doctors
► Covid consultations SOS Doctors : the number of procedures for suspected COVID-19 was 2,465, or 2.9% of the total procedures recorded. SOS Médecins (vs. 3.4% in S42). SOS Médecins actions for suspected COVID-19 continue to decrease in all age groups.
In hospital: more than 1,000 people hospitalized for Covid-19 (28 in intensive care)
Covid cases in hospital: number of emergency visits for suspected COVID-19 was 2,905, or 0.9%. The number ofhospitalizations after passing for suspected COVID-19 was 1,320, i.e. 2.0% of all hospitalizations (vs. 2.1% in W42). trend towards stabilization of hospitalizations after going to the emergency room for COVID-19/suspected COVID-19 was observed in all age groups. Among hospitalizations in intensive care unit after going to the emergency room, 28 were for COVID-19/suspected COVID-19 in W43, or 1.2%.
Covid deaths
During the last week of October, among the 5,371 deaths declared by electronic certificateTHE Covid-19 was mentioned in 5% (flu for 0.1%). The share of deaths attributable to Covid continues to decrease over the months.
