In week 23 (06-12 June 2022), the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 has accelerated throughout metropolitan France with a strong increase in virological indicators” noted Public Health France in its epidemiological update of June 16. “the incidence rate increased sharply (+53% at the national level) and this in all age groupsas well as the positivity rate, especially among 20-59 year olds (+5 dots). A slight increase in new hospital admissions was observed. In Overseas France, the incidence and positivity rates remained particularly high and on the rise in Martinique“continues the organization. The BA.2 sublineages of the Omicron variant are still in the majority but continue to lose ground whereas the detection of BA.4 and BA.5 sub-lineages are still progressing. How many French people are vaccinated against Covid?

Vaccination against Covid-19 continues in France. At June 13, 2022, 53.5 million French people are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 According to figures published by the government : 79.7% have a complete primary vaccination and 59.6% of French people are vaccinated with a booster dose, according to Santé Publique France. The booster dose vaccination coverage was 74.5% among those aged 18 and over and 84.4% among those aged 65 and over. In addition, 9.8% of children aged 10 to 11 had received a first dose of vaccine (3.3% for 5 to 9 year olds).

What are the Covid figures for vaccinated and unvaccinated?

79.7% of the French population is fully vaccinated and 19.2% is not vaccinated (the others having a still incomplete vaccination schedule). Twice a month, the Data-gouv.fr site publishes the distribution of positive Covid cases according to the person’s vaccination. “This delay is necessary for the vaccination to be considered complete and effective (at +7 days) and for the data on the tests to be consolidated” specifies the site. These indicators reflect the number of positive RT-PCR tests per 100,000 vaccinated or unvaccinated people aged 20 and over.
