The number of daily Covid-19 cases is decreasing, the peak of the fifth wave seems to have passed. The government is now talking about future easing of restrictions and is even considering the end of the vaccination pass “at the end of March or the beginning of April”.
Government spokesman Gabriel Attal spoke at the end of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday. He explains that the vaccination pass could soon be lifted, “at the end of March or the beginning of April” he estimates. “There is a beginning of improvement at the hospital and there are projections, models which can give us hope that by the end of March or beginning of April, the situation will be sufficiently relaxed at the hospital for us to be able to lift the vaccination pass. We have always said that these measures would be lifted as soon as the health situation allows it.“.

The president of the Council of orientation of the vaccine strategy, Alain Fischer also made the point with the Commission of the social affairs in the Senate on the situation. He considers it possible to end the vaccination pass under certain conditions: “From a scientific and medical point of view, the incidence rate must be reduced, well below 2,500, at least ten times less, and the current hospital overload must disappear, they must regain their state of usual functioning and that non-Covid patients can be treated“, details Alain Fischer before the Senate. “It can go quite quickly” according to him, thus joining Gabriel Attal on the spring deadline.
No fourth dose yet
Regarding vaccination, the President of the Council for the Orientation of the Vaccine Strategy is clear: he rejects the idea of a fourth dose generalized to the entire population, unlike the Minister of Health, who remained more evasive on the question. “IThere is currently no argument for undertaking a fourth dose, except perhaps for immunocompromised people. The fourth dose is not expected to have as strong a benefit as the booster“, he justified himself.
