The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products has just announced the withdrawal from the market of the nasal spray against Covid-19 called “Previdspray”. According to the agency, this product did not provide “sufficient clinical evidence” to justify its use in this context.
In a press release dated May 6, the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) announces the cessation of the marketing of “Previdspray”.
“The clinical data are not sufficient to justify use against Covid-19. Consequently, the marketing of this product in pharmacies or any other place in France is stopped. can we read on the ANSM website.
Made by a Belgian company
This product is manufactured by Clers medical, registered in Belgium. The ANSM therefore asked its Belgian counterpart, the Belgian Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AFMPS) for “investigations” on this product.
The answers of the Belgian authority obviously did not satisfy the ANSM. The latter also announces in its press release that “in accordance with the FAMHP’s request, Clers Medical is required to withdraw the batches of these devices”.

Throw away the vials if you have any.
Finally, the press release from the health agency recommends that people with “Previdspray” against Covid-19 get rid of the bottles. “People who still have the virucidal nasal spray Previdspray against Covid-19 are invited to throw it away” concludes the health authority.
