COVID 19 outbreak declared at Bluewater Health

An outbreak on Bluewater Health’s cognitively complex continuing care unit in Sarnia has ended, hospital group and public health officials said Monday.

Diligent infection prevention and control measures were credited with helping control the outbreak, officials said in a news release, thanking people for their support.

The outbreak was declared Feb. 10 with fewer than five patients at the time.

There were five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health Monday, officials said.

People must wear hospital-provided masks when visiting, officials said, noting no more than two visitors are permitted bedside, and no food or drink is permitted for visitors within patient rooms.
