Measures such as enhanced cleaning as well as contact tracing have been implemented to protect the health of clients and staff, said a media release issued Friday by Norfolk General Hospital.
NGH is the governing body for the withdrawal management (detoxification) and treatment services facility on West Street.
Customers and staff are being tested. No further cases have been reported so far, said the release.
The outbreak has resulted in the temporary closure of the withdrawal management treatment program at Holmes House.
“We want to reassure our community that we are working diligently to control and contain this outbreak and using our expertise and resources as efficiently as possible,” said the release.
