Councilors almost blindly trusted experts and did too little to get to grips with the extensive lawsuit that their municipality conducted for years against the former concrete manufacturer Niemans Beton. That is the conclusion of a report by the Court of Auditors of Vijfheerenlanden about the protracted case that resulted in a bill of 92 million euros for the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden. “The file is very complex, but they could have done more.”
