Nieuwegein – A 30-year-old man from Nieuwegein has been acquitted by the court of attempted manslaughter of his 4.5 month old son. According to the judges, it cannot be proven that he is responsible for the skull fracture and the bruises that were diagnosed in the baby more than 2.5 years ago. The child was then rushed to the hospital because he became unwell and could no longer breathe. The public prosecutor had demanded five years in prison against the man.
