Despite a good start to the course, Tessa Worley finished far from the podium this Wednesday, February 8 at the World Ski Championships.
She dreamed of a medal, Tessa Worley finally finished far from the podium on the occasion of the Super G of the world ski championships this Wednesday, February 8. The Frenchwoman was however ahead during the first two intermediates, but finally cracked at the end of the course. Disappointment also for Laura Gauché, out of the top 10, just like Romane Miradoli. For the second women’s race of these Worlds, it was a new Italian who finally won. After Federica Brignone in the Alpine Combined, Marta Bassino won ahead of American legend Shiffrin.
The ski world championships got off to a perfect start for the French, with a first gold medal for Alexis Pinturault. On the box, the French savored. “It’s quite incredible, it wasn’t necessarily expected given my season. I wanted to give the best at these Worlds, but I also had to be realistic. I only made one podium this winter, I I’m in the top 6-7 so chasing a gold medal in combined is quite unexpected, especially after two non-qualifications in slalom in Kitzbühel and Schladming. But I had the Worlds in mind for a very long time.”
