It was in August 2021 that customs in Malmö stopped a 32-year-old man and his girlfriend. In the car they found 123.05 liters of alcohol, 0.375 liters of wine and a strong beer, according to a judgment from the Administrative Court in Malmö which News24 took part in.
According to the man, the couple had been on a mini-holiday in Germany and took the opportunity to buy alcohol for four upcoming parties: “baby reveal party, baby shower party, welcome baby party and baptism”.
Here you can read about the couple who were stopped with 70 wine boxes.
The man’s information was assessed as vague
Customs assessed the man’s information as vague because he could not provide any information about place, time or guests, and chose to confiscate the alcohol.
The 32-year-old appealed the decision, but the Administrative Court in Malmö followed the Customs Authority’s line and decided in February 2023 that the man would not get the alcohol back.
