Steam operator Valve has announced Counter-Strike 2 for summer 2023. It comes as a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. But is it coming to consoles?
Can you play Counter-Strike 2 on consoles? No. CS2 is currently in the “Limited Trial Phase” and is only available for Windows PCs.
What are the chances of a console release? Sorry, but it is not good. There is currently no statement from those responsible on the subject. So we can only speculate.
Since, despite the continuing great success of CS:GO on Steam, it was never implemented on PS4 or Xbox One, we currently do not expect Counter-Strike 2 to come to the consoles.
While there was a push to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with CS:GO, that was probably just a field test that apparently wasn’t successful enough to justify further console ports.

The hope remains: With Counter-Strike 2, developer Valve wants to usher in a new era of shooters. After the release in summer 2023, the cards will be reshuffled.
We will keep you up to date on the subject. If there is any news, you will find out about it on MeinMMO. However, there is currently absolutely no evidence pointing to a console release.
There is a tiny glimmer of hope, however.
There have been rumors for a long time that Half-Life: Alyx will be implemented for the PSVR2. Alyx runs in the “Source 2” engine, just like Counter-Strike 2. If the plans are real, it could be an indication that the new engine offers more tools that could help with a console port.
As previously mentioned, however, this is pure speculation.
What’s new in Counter-Strike 2? The aim is to provide players with a polished version of the aged CS:GO and at the same time update or improve important systems.
Many maps are revised, the effects are taken to the next level, the netcode gets a thorough overhaul.
