As the countdown continues for the moon mission, NASA is making preparations for the critical mission. NASA announced that the giant rocket called the Space Launch System (SLS) and the shuttle named Orion on it will be transported to Launch Complex 39B, a few kilometers from the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center today. Stating that the SLS rocket, on which the Orion spacecraft is mounted, will be transported in about 6 to 12 hours, NASA stated that the tests called ‘wet suit rehearsal’ will begin on April 1. As part of these tests, the rocket’s survivability during the launch process will be reviewed by loading and unloading super-cold propellant gas into the center of the rocket.
“THE FIRST ARTEMIS WILL PREPARE THE GROUND FOR THE LAUNCH”
“The test will be the culmination of months of assembly and testing for the SLS and Orion, as well as preparations by the launch control and engineering teams, and lay the groundwork for the first Artemis launch,” NASA said in a statement for the April 1 rehearsal.
WE WILL TAKE THE FIRST WOMAN TO THE MOON
As part of the uncrewed Artemis I mission, the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft will be the first to fly together, sending humans to work in lunar orbit and on the lunar surface with future Artemis II and Artemis III missions. With the Artemis missions, NASA will take the first woman to the Moon, preparing for manned voyages to Mars. (DHA)
