Trees must be felled when widening the A27 motorway. As compensation, more trees are being planted in other places. Opponents of widening say that old trees in Amelisweerd will not be compensated with a new forest. Yet the Amelisweerd National Monument is not affected. The Council of State showed this on a map today.
