Shot putter Jolien Boumkwo hit the 100 meter hurdles in 32.81.
A special situation was seen at the European Athletics European Team Championships, when the Belgian team threw a shot putter in the B category of the women’s 100m hurdles Jolie’s Boumkwon.
Belgian Anne Zagrén was supposed to participate in the competition, but he was unable to participate.
Boumkwo was quickly found as a replacement, who ran last to the finish line with a time of 32.81. He lost to the second last by about 20 seconds.
However, the performance was important for Belgium. It ensured the country two points from the competition, while Switzerland Ditaji Kambundji was rejected due to fraudulent output. Belgium is second last in the 1st division. The last three finishers are relegated to the 2nd division.
– I tried to take it easy. Otherwise I probably would have cramped. If the points I got help us stay in the 1st division, it was worth it, Boumkwo said after the race.
The Belgian finished in yesterday’s women’s shot put competition Eveliina Rouvalin after seventh with a result of 16.58.
