Lung Health Congress with International Participation (UASK) 2024, organized by the Lung Health and Intensive Care Association (ASYOD), continues in a hotel in Antalya’s Belek Tourism Center.
Within the framework of the congress, UASK 2024 Congress President Prof. Dr. Halit Çınarka, ASYOD President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Emin Erbaycu, Congress Scientific Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Ersin Günay, ASYOD Board Member Prof. Dr. Tevfik Özlü, ASYOD Board Member Prof. Dr. Akın Kaya, UASK 2024 Congress Press Relations Officer Assoc. Dr. A press conference was held with the participation of Aydın Balcı.
Speaking at the meeting, UASK 2024 Congress President Prof. Dr. Halit Çınarka noted that they held the International Participatory Lung Health Congress, which was held for the first time in 2015 and for the 9th time this year, with approximately 1,500 specialists and assistant colleagues in Turkey.
Reminding that when it comes to lung health, they are going through a difficult process in Turkey, especially in the pandemic, where chest diseases play a leading role and other branches along with it, Çınarka said, “At this point, we have seen once again the importance of the chest diseases branch through the pandemic. We see the aftereffects of the pandemic in the congress. We are discussing the respiratory problems caused by the earthquake at the congress. We started with a course covering both chest diseases and surgery in 11 simultaneous sessions. In these courses, accompanied by 450 participants, we shared practical applications with our expert friends. In the halls with 45 main sessions; We have prepared a theoretical program with presentations, panels, symposiums, round tables and different formats, prepared with useful and intensive participation. There has been intense participation since the first day. “There will be 141 oral presentation sessions and 315 poster presentations,” he said.
“THEY COME TOGETHER AT THE CONGRESS EVERY YEAR”
ASYOD President Prof.Dr. Ahmet Emin Erbaycu said that, as every year, they came together with all their colleagues at the congress as the Lung and Intensive Care Association.
Erbaycu stated that in addition to sharing current information at the congress, they also discussed the research of the next period and medical applications together, and said, “Especially this year, we organized a rich program again, we prepared a nice program with a team of speakers both from home and abroad. “The Lung Health and Intensive Care Association meets here every year with approximately 3 thousand members and updates its information,” he said.
“COMMON DISEASES IN OUR COUNTRY SHOULD BE ADDRESSED”
Congress Scientific Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Ersin Günay stated that they have been preparing for the congress for about 1 year and said, “We have prepared very good programs so that the participants can increase their knowledge and make suggestions to their patients for more comfortable treatments. The first day started with courses, we completed 11 courses, both theoretical and practical. We provided courses to 428 trainees. We will hold our congress within the scientific program with 45 sessions in 4 halls for approximately 3 days. While carrying out this scientific program, we have 279 professors invited from home and abroad. Respiratory diseases are common diseases in society. Among these, COPD, which is common in our country, innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, and developments in the literature regarding the early diagnosis of lung cancer, which is known to be fatal, will be discussed. “Information about both drug and surgical treatments for the treatment of lung cancer will be shared with the participants,” he said. Günay also stated that current developments will be discussed in the sessions on sleeping disorders, asthma, lung infections and pulmonary tuberculosis.

ASYOD Board Member Prof. Dr. Tevfik Özlü said, “I am proud to be able to be together here with approximately 1,500 colleagues who work in the field of pulmonary diseases and try to protect and improve our national lung health. I am very honored to be a member of such an association and to work in its kitchen. It is very important for our lung health and for our nation. Here, we do not just gather and discuss among ourselves as colleagues. The real outcome of this congress is for our people and society. Because our colleagues attending here, our experts, experts and academicians coming from every hospital in 81 provinces of Turkey, discuss the latest treatment methods and the newest diagnostic methods in the field of chest diseases, both theoretically and practically, here, they listen and ask questions.
