SVT Nyheter Örebro has previously reported on the deficit of 19.6 million that the social committee in Degerfors municipality is grappling with.
The social administration would reduce costs, among other things, by bringing in fewer temporary workers in the operations, but according to the administration’s monthly report, the forecast is that the home service’s personnel costs will exceed the budget by SEK 2.5 million.
The costs are due to the fact that a lot of temporary workers were brought in, but also to the fact that the home care staff worked more overtime hours compared to the social administration’s other areas of operation.
In the clip above, the chairman of the social welfare committee explains why the costs are skyrocketing.
