The jury in the civil case where a 64-year-old woman accuses Cosby of sexually abusing her when she was 16 years old had made a decision, but the judge did not have time to read out the verdict before the court closed for the day.
For financial reasons, there was no budget to let the court’s employees work overtime, and since one of the jury members can not attend next week, the deliberations must then start again from the beginning, American media reports.
85-year-old Bill Cosby was released from prison last year after serving a nearly three-year prison sentence for drugging and sexually abusing a woman in 2004. He was released after his prison sentence was overturned by the Pennsylvania Court of Appeals.
