The Vuelta reaches its decisive stages. There are already many kilometers left behind in the legs of the runners… and also in the entire caravan that accompanies this cycling event: team cars, mobile finishing infrastructure such as the podium, press room (375 m inflatable tenttwowhich is installed in the high mountains), signature control, anti-doping, kitchen truck…
Precisely of the displacement of all these mobile infrastructures is in charge Post for the third consecutive year. The official logistics operator of La Vuelta reached an agreement with Unipublic, the organizing company of the cycling event, to be responsible for transporting all the material in this 77th edition.
It represents a real logistical challenge, since more than 400 tons of material are being moved so that it can be played without any incident in the 42 venues (21 starts and 21 finishes). Also, in this edition, with the peculiarity that up to three stages have been held outside the Spanish geography: in the Netherlands. It is the fourth time in history that this has happened and the second since the country of tulips. Of course, it is a challenge for Correos, since in the previous two years as an official logistics operator, it was always held entirely in Spanish territory.
Correos makes available to Unipublic 30 tractor units and 19 platforms who are traveling 3,280 kilometers loaded with the necessary material to hold the race.
