Italy has made its decision on the obligation to wear masks, which will end this. The mask requirement applied within the scope of the measures against the Kovid-19 epidemic in the country has been extended until June 15 in public transportation and all closed places.
“WE CAN’T BECOME OUT OF THE EPIDEMIC YET”
With a new regulation signed by Health Minister Roberto Speranza, the obligation to use masks in closed areas in the country, which will expire at the end of the month, has been extended until June 15. According to the regulation, the obligation to use masks in public transportation, trains, planes, ferries, buses, intercity services, cinemas, theaters and all indoor activities will continue for a while.
Speranza, at a conference he attended today, stated that as of March 31, they left the state of emergency for Kovid-19 behind, but they have not yet come out of the epidemic, so they still need to be careful.
Expert opinions in the Italian press also pointed out that the use of masks in closed areas should continue for a while due to the high number of daily cases.
69 thousand 204 cases in the last 24 hours
According to the data shared by the ministry on the epidemic daily, 69 thousand 204 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours, while 131 people died due to the virus.
Sharing data on the epidemic, GIMBE Foundation reported that the number of cases across the country increased by 22.7 percent in the period of 20-26 April compared to the previous week.
Since February 2020, when the epidemic started in Italy, the total number of cases has reached 16 million 349 thousand 788, while the number of deaths has reached 163 thousand 244.
