Corona infection has increased in Sweden. This was announced by Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S) and the Director General of the Swedish Public Health Agency, Karin Tegmark Wisell, at a press conference on Thursday.
– The infection increases again. Many are sick even though it is the middle of summer. We see a small increase in the number of people with covid-19 who need care in hospitals and who need intensive care, says Hallengren.
The Swedish Public Health Agency urges everyone to take their vaccine doses and stay home if they have symptoms.
– We can expect more cases during the summer and some increased burden on healthcare. But we do not see in front of us such an impact as we saw earlier during the pandemic, I really want to emphasize that, says Lena Hallengren.
