We can all agree that the start of 2024 has been… so? I already felt at the end of last year that 2024 will not be a super year for anyone. If you felt that 2023 did not deliver for you, just wait. There, I said it.
Incidentally, people get so incredibly provoked when you poke holes in their hopes for the new year which will once again be “their year”. But like, can’t you just see it as a year? Like when you show up at a party and it happens to be FUNNY?
BUT. One thing about 2024 that has been served on a silver platter is the TV delivery. Farmen 2024 and Love is blind Sweden have, for all semi-depressed people out there, swept in a white runner.
Never, ever, have the plots been so tightly packed as in The Farm 2024. It didn’t even take a day? It took… well, but the walk to the yard for the girls to feel strong skepticism about each other.
So far there have been scattered showers. A little all against all. But what has happened now is that it is Cornelia Gyllborg and Ronja Lindholm against the rest of the pack.
And sorry but of course television is cut and angled here and there and the devil and his aunt. It won’t be a good season if everyone sits in a ring and sings kumbaya.
But a blind, deaf and dumb person can both hear and see that there are several people this year who behave like real fucking national bullies?
I ABSOLUTELY don’t think you need to like everyone, you should be able to speak up and have discussions that sometimes get quite fiery. But HOW can people not have better finger tips when it’s all against one? Or in this case two?
It certainly does not feel good in the stomach when you see the bully Yorgo Skulis (who after 2 days of being a big farmer has become totally power crazy) raise his voice at the dining table to Ronja and Cornelia for washing their clothes on the stove. He KNOWS that he has the support of the rest of the group and therefore smears with his abuse of power fully.
Sorry but he is a typical example of a person who should NOT be a boss or any kind of leader. He doesn’t become a good person because of it, but instead the absolute worst sides of him come out.
It is very interesting to see this in programs like Farmen.
And the extras who don’t say anything? It’s damn easy to be macho and manly when you’re chopping wood, but when it comes to saying a fist around the table, it’s a different story?
But then:
Jennifer Valencia I kind of like it. She makes very good television. But in a group, when it comes together against individuals, she mainly leads the way with the pitchfork in the fall.
Magnus Samuelsson I think I look like a good and happy salmon. He feels cozy and kind, but I am terrified that he will be afraid of ending up on the underdog’s side himself, that he will join the gang of bullies.
I am impressed that Ronja and Cornelia stand their ground and do their thing despite a bunch of people who are CONSTANTLY going against them.
So RUN for the hell of it and don’t back down a centimeter girls. While the others leave the farm as bullies, you can go straight in the back and leave as a winner. No matter how it ends.
