According to Corneille Nangaa, the main objective of his initiative is the rebuilding of the State. “ If to achieve this, we have to take power in Kinshasa, we will take it”he told RFI.

The former president of the Ceni stressed that it is a political, social and possibly armed struggle, if this proves necessary and justified.

According to him, the armed groups affiliated with his alliance are scattered in the former Orientale province and in the Katanga area, passing through the two Kivus and Ituri.

Among these groups, we find the M23, whose president of the political branch was present alongside it in Nairobi.

This group supported by Kigali, including Bernard Maheshe Byamungu, identified as deputy commander of operations and intelligence of the M23, has just been sanctioned by the UN.

Asked by RFI about having formed an alliance with a movement sanctioned by the United Nations, Nangaa responded categorically: “IHe does not represent the United Nations. I work for Congo. My goal is to definitively resolve the problem in the east of the country “.

Among the members of the Congo River Alliance is also Twirwaneho, in South Kivu, whose commander, Michel Rukunda, has just been sanctioned by the United States.

This movement is criticized by the United States for its attacks against civilians, including in a displaced persons camp.

Corneille Nangaa, however, affirmed that he is not in contact with John Numbi, the former inspector general of the Congolese National Police, now in exile, who was also distinguished by a video directly threatening Félix Tshisekedi.
