Caught in the middle of a storm, hockey great Corey Perry has published his apology.
The NHL hockey player who was successful in his long apology Corey Perry38, refers to substance abuse and mental health problems.
Having achieved almost everything possible in ice hockey, Perry moved to Chicago last summer and had time to play only 16 NHL games in his new club before his career with the Blackhawks ended.
In an official statement from the Blackhawks it was said that Perry engaged in conduct that was unacceptable to the club and violated both the terms of the player’s contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies.
In Perry’s statement, he apologizes to the entire Chicago Blackhawks organization, owners, management, coaches, employees and teammates.
– I also want to apologize to my fans and my family. I am embarrassed and I have let you all down.
Perry laments the wild speculations and rumors that have arisen on social media about the consequences of his actions.
– I am sorry for the effects this has had on others. I want to make it clear that this incident of mine was in no way about my teammates or their families.
The 19-year hockey veteran considers his own behavior inappropriate and wrong.
– I have started discussions with mental health and substance abuse experts about my alcohol problems. I will take whatever steps are necessary to make sure this never happens again. I hope to regain the trust and respect of everyone who has believed in me throughout my career. Once again, I am deeply sorry, writes Perry.
Perry’s statement does not say exactly what he was doing when the Blackhawks fired him.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli reported earlier On the Daily Faceoffthat Perry had some kind of drunken outburst at a Chicago Blackhawks event involving corporate sponsors and employees of the organization.
