Sarnia police officers will be outside of three Sarnia shopping centers Saturday for the 10th annual Cops for Cans.
They will be collecting non-perishable food donations from the public between 10 am and 3 pm outside the Walmart Superstore, Quinn Drive, Kyle’s No Frills, Exmouth Street, and the Real Canadian Superstore, Murphy Road.
The goal of the annual event is to fill police cruisers with donated non-perishable food and essential household items – such as soap, diapers and toothpaste – for the Inn of the Good Shepherd in Sarnia.
“We are excited to host this annual event to help those who are in need of all the services the Inn of the Good Shepherd provides during the holiday season,” police said in a news release.
“We are hoping the community will come out this Saturday and support this charitable initiative by generously donating to this important cause.”
