Cooperatives, accountants present a focus on the unitary report of the Board of Statutory Auditors

Accountants document on sustainability governance and finance published

(Finance) – Provide tools to support the professionalism of accountants who play the delicate role of members of the Board of Auditors in Cooperative Companies. It is the purpose of document “The unitary report of the Board of Statutory Auditors to the members of cooperative companies”, published by National Council of Accountants, prepared by its “Cooperative Societies” Commission, chaired by Paola Maria Rho.
“The specific legislation that concerns Cooperative Societies – states the national president of the category, Elbano de Nuccio – gives the Board of Statutory Auditors specific control tasks, the results of which are expressed in the report to the Members of the Cooperative Companies on the occasion of the approval of the financial statements. With this document, the National Council consolidates its commitment also with respect to this type of organisation, whose purposes and characteristics require particular attention and initiatives. The document aims to maintain and strengthen the commitment of the National Council to the service of our professionals, providing a typology of the mandatory contents, and other recommended ones, of the report of the board of auditors to the assembly of cooperative members regarding the financial statements”.

The national councilor delegated to the cooperative societies area (fulfillments, reporting, review), Gian Luca Galletti, underlines how “the work primarily contains the regulatory framework relating to the obligations of the members of the board of statutory auditors of cooperative companies and followed by a proposal for the integration of the specific contents of the report models – ‘The unitary corporate control report of the board of statutory auditors responsible for statutory audit of accounts’ and ‘The report of the board of auditors to the meeting of cooperative members on the occasion of the approval of the financial statements closed on 31 December 2023 drawn up pursuant to art. 2429, paragraph 2, of the civil code’ – issued by our National Council, adapting them to the peculiarities of control in cooperative companies”.
