Coop continues to sell products from Bake my Day

During Friday, Coop also came out with one press release and told that they are stopping deliveries from the supplier Bake my Day due to a lack of food hygiene at the supplier’s bakery in Huddinge.

– We have a dialogue with the supplier about the information that appeared in the media about a lack of safety around food hygiene and about the working situation for the employees. We have also collected information from the responsible control authorities to take part in the audits carried out at the bakery and its results, says Nicholas Godbusiness manager at Coop Sweden.

Despite this, they continue to sell the products in the stores. It was Swedish Radio who announced on Saturday that Coop will continue to sell what it has already bought, with the justification that it wants to avoid food waste.

– We have paused our purchases, but there are bakery products left on the shelves and it will take a couple of days before they run out. Our view is that you don’t need to be worried about eating what is available in stores now, says Therese Knapppress secretary at Coop, in an interview in Today’s News.
