Doctors have also determined that Coolio’s severe asthma and cigarette smoking played a role in his death, Posey said.
Coolio had his breakthrough with “Fantastic voyage” from 1994’s “To catch a thief”, followed by the hit album “Gangsta’s paradise” the following year. The single “1, 2, 3, 4 (sumpin’ new)” was also a hit, and in 1997 “My soul” was released, which became his last truly successful album.
The American artist, whose real name was Artis Ivey, passed away last September at the age of 59. He died in a residence in Los Angeles.
