Cooler weather is expected DNSE

On Thursday, the heat after this year’s midsummer remains in the air in large parts of Sweden. But the high temperatures are expected to subside next week and towards the weekend it is expected to rain.

– Now we have some areas with rain showers and thunderstorms that move and will pass over the country. Then there is a cold front that will pass and then come a little lower day temperatures and also a little drier air, says Petter Lind, meteorologist at SMHI.

For southern Sweden, the coolness comes already on Friday. At the top of the north, the heat seems to remain for a few more days while the cold front sweeps over Sweden.

– Then we already have a couple of rain and thunderstorms on the way across the Baltic Sea. It will mainly affect Gotland first but turns in over Svealand and southern Norrland early on Friday. Locally there may be some large amounts of rain.

By Sunday, the more erratic weather is expected to have reached all of Sweden, with temperatures of around 20 degrees and drier air.

– It looks like it will remain during the next week. But a few new rain showers from the west also here and there, says Petter Lind at SMHI.
