The man was arrested at Landvetter in February 2022 and was then, according to the Security Police, on his way to Syria or Iraq to join IS. He was later sentenced to 8 months in prison.
After serving his sentence, the man got a contract as a substitute worker at a municipal leisure center in Gothenburg. This despite requesting an extract from the criminal record – but it did not show that the man had been convicted of a terrorist offence.
