A man who served as a juror at a court in Västernorrland has been charged with rape and sexual harassment, local media write. The man, who is in his 70s, has been involved in sentencing several serious sex crime cases. After the criminal accusation, he himself requested to be dismissed from his post.
– It is never good to have this kind of attention for a court, says Court of Appeal President Agneta Ögren to SVT Västernorrland.
The incident must have taken place in a hotel. According to the lawsuit, the man must have committed an act comparable to intercourse against a woman’s will. He is also said to have caressed another woman and thereby violated her sexually, writes Sundsvalls Tidning.
The accused man denies wrongdoing.
