Convicted for knife murder of nursing home in Enköping: Hear the alarm call

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The murder occurred on November 17 last year.

A now 21-year-old man, user of a newly started LSS residence in Enköping, called SOS-Alarm at 12:27 p.m.

– Hey, erm, I have murdered a person, says the man in the emergency call that TV4 Nyheterna can now publish.
– Okay, what has happened then?
– I was annoyed with her. I couldn’t control myself, answers the 21-year-old.

When the rescue mission arrived at the residence, the woman’s life could not be saved. She had been stabbed several times, in the chest, back and neck.

The murder victim was 19 years old and worked as a housing support worker. She had only managed to work for three weeks before the 21-year-old user stabbed her to death. At the time, the woman was the only member of staff at the group home and, according to the prosecutor, lacked post-secondary education.

The district court’s verdict was handed down today. The 21-year-old is judged to be seriously mentally ill and was sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge examination.

The union very critical – knife threat before the murder

Although the murder of the young newly hired woman has been legally resolved, a parallel investigation into work environment violations is ongoing to find out the question of how this could happen.

The incident is the fourth since 2014 where employees have been killed on the job in health care. Three of the four crimes have taken place within LSS activities, the Act on support and services for certain disabled persons.

TV4 Nyheterna has previously reported on the union’s sharp criticism, which states that it has been warned for a long time about the risks of violence in similar accommodation. Barely two weeks before the murder, another employee was threatened with a knife by a user at the same nursing home.

– What must not happen has now happened. A young employee who was murdered at work. Unfortunately, we are not surprised, Johan Ingelsog, contract manager at Kommunal, previously told TV4 Nyheterna.
