Contributions to Biden are stopped – Disney: “Replace Biden”

After his disastrous performance in the debate against Trump, Joe Biden spoke last night at a Fourth of July celebration in Washington.
And again he stumbled over the words.
Now more and more important contributors are threatening to withdraw their support – if Biden does not drop out of the presidential election.
– If Biden does not step aside, the Democrats will lose, says Abigail Disney, heir to the Disney fortune.

After last week’s debate, in which Biden’s performance created discontent and anxiety within the party, the president has spent the Fourth of July giving speeches in hopes of quelling calls to withdraw from the upcoming election. This time too he stumbled over the words, reports New York Times.

Now there are several important contributors who are threatening to withdraw their support for the Democrats, if they do not change their presidential candidate. One of them is Disney, writes TT.

– This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man who has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high, says Abigail Disney to CNBC.

Disney: “Will stop all contributions”

Abigail Disney, granddaughter of Roy O Disney and co-founder of the Disney empire, says she is sure the Democrats will lose the election unless Biden is replaced. Instead, she suggests Vice President Kamala Harris.

– I will stop all contributions to the party until they replace Biden, says Abigail Disney.

And she is not alone in her opinion. Entrepreneur and philanthropist Gideon Stein has also said he is pausing his planned $3.5 million contribution, money that would have gone to Democratic nonprofits and political organizations.

Hoping for a new TV interview

During Friday, ABC News broadcasts an exclusive television interview with Biden.

And according to information to New York Times the president himself has said that the coming weekend, and above all the interview on ABC, will determine whether he can continue his campaign or not.

Still, he is determined to continue running for president.

– I’m not going anywhere, said Biden during a barbecue party on Thursday’s national day celebration, according to TT.
