Because the convicted owner of the site is unable or unwilling to initiate the remediation itself, the municipality has now done so. That this took so long is because a tender had to be done with various specialized companies in this field. One of those companies has now been hired to remediate the site. The entire cleaning job is expected to take at least a year.
