For the 11th Saturday in a row, opposition groups in Israel demonstrated their displeasure with the incumbent right-wing nationalist government.
The street protests are expected to gather several hundreds of thousands of demonstrators throughout the country.
– These are the largest demonstrations in the country’s history, says SVT’s correspondent Samir Abu Eid.
The dissatisfaction is directed at the government’s decision to change Israel’s legal system. Among other things, the parliament must be given the opportunity to overturn judgments from the country’s highest court. According to the critics, the government’s aim is to strengthen its power.
